Trying to Figure Out What the Best EReader Is For You?
It can get pretty confusing… Kindle, Kobo, Nook, BeBook, Sony Reader and more – with all the options available out there, it can be tough to know which one is the best choice.
Should you opt for a less expensive e-ink reader or dive in and get one of the new colour tablets? Wi-Fi or 3G?
I’m in the process of researching the best ereader for myself and I thought I’d share my findings as I look at the options. I’m not a techy person, so you’ll basically get the info from the viewpoint of a person who likes to read and just wants the best ereader experience from that perspective.
So – lets get to it. Hopefully, we’ll both end up with the best ereader for each of us!

Kindle EReader – The Popular Kid In Class
With a multitude of models and superior performance, the Kindle eReader has been a favorite choice for the ravenous reader for a while.
Winning the title of the popular kid in class (any maybe even the whole school!) is something to be proud of, but that doesn’t mean that the other eReaders on the market don’t have their own fans.
Nevertheless, Kindle really does seem to get a lot of things right. So far in the game, Amazon Kindle has consistently beat up the competition pretty thoroughly. With new editions such as the Kindle Fire to hit the market very soon, there’s still plenty of reasons to “Kindle” some Kindle eReader excitement.

Kobo Reader Review – How Does The Kobo Compare?
The Kobo Touch ereader is produced by the Toronto-based company, Kobo Inc. and the Kobo Touch is their version of the touchscreen ereader. Kobo ereaders are available throughout North America and are currently entering some overseas markets as well. To learn more about availability in your part of the world, click HERE.
As with other ebook readers on the market, the Kobo reader has its fair share of fans out there. Although not as popular as the Kindle ereaders, the Kobo reader does do some things very well. Kobos are offered in 2 formats at the moment - the Kobo Touch and the basic Kobo ebook reader.
The newest member of the Kobo family is the Kobo Vox, a color version of the Kobo. Released in November 2011, you can now read my review here.

BeBook EReader – Not Available To Everyone… Yet
In case you think that a BeBook eReader may be a good option for you, depending on where you live, you may be out of luck. For some of us, the BeBook is beyond our grasp, as international shipping for the BeBook is limited at the moment.
It’s too bad too, because the BeBook eReader seems to hold its own when compared to the other eReaders on the market, but really hits a high note with its ability to support many different formats and with its Wacom touch sensing (which even allows you to doodle onscreen) and web browser. It seems to be the best eReader for PDF documents across the board, judging by what users have to say.
Other big pluses on BeBook’s side are the super-long battery life (leader of the pack here) and backlit display screen.

The New Nook Finally Gives Kindle Some Competition
Kudos go out to Barnes and Noble, as the new BN Nook EReader is a BIG improvement on the first BN Nook released in 2009.
The new Nook offers up some pretty nice features and functionality now, including an easy to use, 6″ touch screen, long battery life (up to 2 months on 1 charge!),
super light and thin profile, offering a huge bookstore of over 2,000,000 titles and some fun social abilities.
Prices range from $139 for the new BN Nook up to $249 for the new Nook Colour, and includes free shipping. Still available for a limited time is the Nook 1st Edition at $89.
